Right guidance: make the sailing smooth

Adolescence is the most tumultuous period of one’s life and a hand holding and right guidance make the sailing smooth. Keeping the need of the students in mind DAV Public School organised a talk by eminent doctor, Dr. Dwarka Pershad a clinical psychologist and Retired Additional Professor of Clinical Psychology at PGI, Chandigarh. He was accompanied by Dr. Tarlochan Singh from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Ludhiana. Dr. Tarlochan Singh from GTB Hospital Ludhiana. Dr. Dwarka Pershad is having more than 50 years of experience to his credit and has worked in different capacities in PGI and several other reputed organizations and has won several awards and honours. He has authored a book titled ‘Construction of Memory’ and has even translated the psychology tests in vernacular to suit the masses.
Dr. Dwarka Pershad, talked about the common attitude of the people towards the psychological problems which further aggravates the situation to take it beyond correction. He said that all problems of youngsters emanate from self, parent or school. Therefore a strong liaison between home and school can help them face the challenges and develop sound personalities. He addressed the problems of the students pertaining to their age and suggested ways and measures to tackle the same. He stressed on the importance of spirituality and self determination which can help in correcting off the track behavior of the youngsters due to various distractions. Dr. Pershad also advised the students to accept constituent problems and put in their best to excel despite these. He exhorted the students to be wary of adopting shortcuts to achieve success in life. In fact having proper study habits and adhering to the time table can be the sure shot formulae to success.
Principal Mrs. J.K.Sidhu, thanked Dr. Dwarka Pershad for sparing his valuable time to render help to the adolescents on the campus in analyzing their behaviour for the betterment of the self, family and the society.
